Konichiwa minasan! (Hello everyone!)
How are you guys?? I miss you and love you and think about you guys all of the time! Okay, so this week was pretty.. interesting... we got our new kyudosha (investigator) this past Friday and he's really tough... It's been so frustrating. So he's a teacher here, but he's acting like an investigator that he had when he was on his mission... Okay so his name is Kuwahara and he's 17 and he's seriously a challenge. He just likes to challenge everything we say and it's hard to answer any of his questions because our Nihongo (Japanese) is so limited. And it's really frustrating because I know how important our message is and I want him to understand that to but it's like he's so opposed to any kind of religion at all. Like yesterday we taught him about Joseph Smith and the first vision and he thought it was super cool. Like he was really excited about it, and that was the first time it seemed like he was interested in anything we were saying. And then he goes on to say that like he thinks our message is true and he believes us and he thinks it's really subarashi (wonderful), but he doesn't understand or see why religion in general is necessary. He said that like he's been okay in his life up until now and he doesn't understand why he needs it. So it's soooo frustrating because we have tried to answer his question in a million different ways but he doesn't like any of our answers. It's kinda heart breaking to have someone say they believe in your message but they don't want it in their life. Everytime we talk about our kyudosha (investigator) I cry because I'm so frustrated and it's just a really difficult situation... okay I cry so much here, like all of us do. It's really ridiculous haha.
Okay, in other news... this week's devotional was by M. Russell Ballard. It's way cool, I guess in the last 3 months like all of the apostles have come here and done devotionals... And usually they get like 2 or 3 a year! and starting this Sunday is like a new mission president training meeting and like very important people are gonna be here all week... like the prophet.... for real... haha It's way exciting! So I'll let you know how that goes next week!
Oh so we started coaching this week.. Our coach is Black Shimai (Sister Black).. I think i told you that. She's so great. Like for real. We get an hour with here everyday. She's our personal teacher and we can do whatever we want. It's been super helpful! The Nihongo (Japanese) is slowly coming... it's probably coming a lot faster than I realize, but it's hard because there is just so much that I cannot say. But okay! yesterday I put together a really kinda complex sentence and my teacher said i was right! haha so that was the best! I'll tell you what it was cause I'm so proud haha.... Josefu Sumisu wa ju yon sai datta toki ni, dono kyokai ga shinjitsu ni tsuite shitsumon ga arimashita... when Joseph Smith was 14 years old he had a question about which chursh was true... That's right. Be impressed haha. Anyways, I love you all! I hope you're having a great summer... the weather has been ridiculous here.. like the past few days it's been so cold... like in the 50s. It's the middle of June! okay, well I gotta go! I'll talk to you all later!
Aishitemasu! (I love you!)
