Well hello everyone!
This week was pretty good! I set a new record... I fell off my bike 4 times this week! Pretty embarassing haha one of the choro (Elders) in my district said that is more times than he has fallen his whole mission! haha But there was no blood so that has to be a second record right?! My legs are just incredibly bruised, it's super gross haha but daijobu desu! (I'm okay!)
Okay so this week we went and visited a lot of less actives. The most interesting was the Okido family. They are this old couple, probably in their 70s. He was baptized about twenty years ago and his wife is a nonmember. We heard that they are pretty interesting people but they love the missionaries a lot! So we decided to go visit them! Okay so we get there and they let us in and they fed us some snacks... and they showed us this picture book they had of all the missionaries they met with. There were like 8 sets of missionaries. Now my Nihongo (Japanese) is so bad and I had no idea what Okido kyodai (Brother Okido) was talking about for an hour but Iwasa shimai (Sister Iwasa) told me after that he was telling her about this new religion he decided he believes in. It's called Happy Science. Basically he believes in this guy who claims to be the reincarnated Jesus. This guy lives in Nihon (Japan), and Okido Kyodai went on about how of course Jesus came to Nihon (Japan) because it's the best country because their are a lot of vending machine and no one ever tries to break into them and steal the money. Then he went on for a bit about how China is full of thieves haha. Okay and he also believes that a dragon controls the weather. I don't even know. But he is really smart, he has studied for years and years about religions. And he told us to come back so he could teach us about religion... soooo we probably aren't going back haha. They were super nice though. It was quite interesting.
Next! we visited this girl, well she's 27, she joined the church 10 years ago. Okamoto shimai (Sister Okamoto). She was way nice, and we asked her if we could come back but she said ehhh... I don't know. But if my car is here I am home and you can stop by and I'll talk with you. And we shared a scripture and prayed together so it was pretty good and we have a lot of hope for her.... But then yesterday at our meeting we found out why she went less active. Apparently she was engaged to Senba kyodai (Brother Senba), who is currently the 2nd counselor in the bishopric in our ward... but they broke up and now he is married to someone else with 2 kids! so that is super awkward and we don't know how to invite her to come to church because there is probably no way she will with him there. So that will be an interesting one to figure out!
We visited some more, but I don't have time to tell you about all of them! So I'll tell you about two more! First is the Kozaki family. It's a mom and daughter. The mom is less active and in her 60s. She stopped coming to church after her husband died. The daughter is a nonmember! So we go and teach them, and it was pretty good, they like to talk so we were there forever! But in her prayer the mom said that she wants to learn about the church again with her daughter! So that was like way exciting! So we are going back on Saturday! Hopefully something good will happen there!
The last and most amazing miracle! So Kiyomisan is probably in her early 30s. She has a one year old son! Who is way cute! Anyways, I guess there have been a few missionaries who have tried to teach her, but the timing was just never right. But we went to teach her last Tuesday. We taught her about God and prayer. Okay first of all, she gave us these muffins... they were banana... I thought I was going to die.... it seriously took all my strength to not throw up everywhere... but anyways. She seemed way interested and we had a member come with us who bore a really powerful testimony! But then at the end of the lesson Kiyomisan prayed and oh my gosh! The spirit was so strong! Like honto ni. We like all started crying. I had no idea what she said, but it was really amazing. After Iwasa shimai told me that she said she felt God's love. And she was saying how much she loves her son and that she know God loves her the same way! And she said in her prayer that she wants to learn more! So like score! so awesome! We really want to teach her and her husband though. So on Sunday the same member that came with us to the lesson is having us and Kiyomi's family over for dinner! So it will be good! Plus we are teaching her on Tuesday again! It's going to be so great!
So other than the mission stuff, life is pretty great! I've discovered a lot of awesome food! haha. There are 7-11s everywhere! So sometimes we stop and get snacks... you get super delicious onigiri (rice ball) for like a buck! It's the best!
Okay! well I love you all so much! I hope you're doing well! I haven't really heard from any of my poop head sisters... soooo yeah... Okay! I shall write you next week! Aishiteimasu! (I love you!
