Hello family!!
Today is the start of week 5! Which means I'm almost done with my first transfer! It's crazy! Time is flying by! This week was pretty good! I experienced a lot of firsts this week!
My first earthquake! On Friday morning at about 4:16 am there was an earth quake... just a baby one but it woke us up. I thought I would have freaked out but both me and Iwasa Shimai (Sister Iwasa) were so exhausted we just looked at each other and she was like "did you feel that?" and I was like "yeah" and she was like "okay" and we both went back to sleep haha. It was great!
On Friday morning I experienced my first radio taiso (radio exercise--the communities get together at parks early in the morning during summer break and exercise together with music and instruction they broadcast on radio.) haha. It was hilarious. We went with Mahiro-chan, this cute 10 year old girl that lives in our building and goes to eikawa (English class) everyweek! She asked all 4 of us to go with her so we did. It was so funny! There were just all these cute little kids and they just stared and me and Heaton shimai (Sister Heaton) like woahhh... gaijin (foreigners)... hahah so cute!
Thusday was also my first interview with Gustafson Kaicho (President Gustafson, mission president)! We went to the stake center and had a training for a couple of hours and then interviews. It was a good day! I learned so much! Thursday was also my dendo (mission) birthday! That's right! I've been a missionary for 3 whole months now! Pretty crazy!
Okay and on Saturday I went to my first stake primary activity in Japan! it was so fun! We went with the Zaitsu family. They are the ones that are gonna get baptized in October... but anyways, Ryota-kun is in a wheelchair so me and Iwasa shimai went around with him and played the games with him and stuff... but the whole time all he cared about was lunch! haha Like every two minutes he would ask us what time it was or when's lunch! haha The kid loves food haha. He is so awesome! Then at the end of the activity they played this popular like kids excercise/dance video... oh my gosh! Seriously the cutest thing ever! These kids were just dancing along! And they had to stop the video early because time was up and all the kids got so mad haha. It was so adorable!
Okay! Now I'll tell you about a few people! First, we have a new investigator, Maiko-chan. She comes to Eikaiwa (English class) every week and we decided to invite her to hear the lessons and she was so excited! So we are going to teach her on Sunday! We are so hopeful for her! I will let you know how it goes! Next is Zaitsu-san.... she is a tough one... She has so much desire to know that this is true. But she doesn't really like learning from us I don't think.... Like she kind of has this attitude of the missionaries are so young... they don't know anything... So it's been kind of hard, but it's getting better. I think I told you about how she loves the commandments and thinks they are super awesome... She kinda feels like there isn't one true religion though and that they are all at least kind of true... so we are trynig to help her... but yesterday in her lesson she asked us how can I know if this is really true? So we told her all about how she needs to act and pray to know for herself that it's true. I think she got it.. So hopefully she starts acting! Next is Kiyomi-san! She is so awesome! Everytime we teach her she totally loves it and gets so excited! She is definitely gonna get baptized soon I think! But we are trying to teach her husband too! We have a dinner set up with her and her husband and the Matsuyamas (a family they are really good friends with in the ward) and we are gonna hopefully get him to start joining us for lessons! Okay! and last is Chigusa (my mom's cous! We are meeting her on Wednesday and she is gonna tell me about our family! Shes so excited to help me with family history!!! We are also gonna invite her to start taking the lessons! Hopefully it goes well! Pray for her!
well thats about it for this week! I love you all!
