Hey family! I hope you all had a good week! I know I did! There are so many miracles happening here in yahata! Last pday we went to Costco with our dendo shunin (Mission Leader) and his wife! It was way fun. We bought lots of stuff and he bought us pizza and ice cream! 'Merica! That was a huge miracle haha. Go Costco! Okay I have better ones too haha.
On Tuesday we had district meeting which was good. My district is huge. 8 elders and the two of us. It's kinda weird but everyone is way cool. We also had a lesson with Eriko! She's the cutest! She's 19 and we found her my first pday here. She just wants to learn so much! We gave her a Book of Mormon and she is so excited to read it! Then we had eikaiwa which Eriko also came to! It was way fun!
Wednesday was a way good day! We had a lesson with our investigator Masa. She was an investigator before I got here, but then they dropped her and then we picked her up again. We talked about prayer and helped her understand how important it is. We were able to help her see
prayer in a new light and I think she really understood how important it is. It was so cool! It's funny, like we always think of prayer as this really simple thing, but it makes such a huge difference. Anyways. We also had a lesson with Tsuzuki San! That was way cool! Packard shimai and her companion before me found her the Monday before I transferred here. They had one lesson together. Anyways gosh! This lady is so cool! She's probably in her 40s and has an18 year old son who stayed and listened to our lesson! He seems interested. And he's way nice. Anyways. We had this whole lesson plan but then she started us asking questions about Joseph Smith so we ditched our lesson plan and did the restoration lesson. And we asked her what she thought about Joseph Smith's experience. And she said that she believes it's true. We were way shocked. No one ever says that when they first hear about it. We asked her why and she said if it wasn't true she wouldn't have met us. We wouldn't be missionaries and we wouldn't have knocked on her door. So she said it has to be true because she met us. Like oh my gosh! That was so cool to hear. She is so awesome and she really loves us and like she just met me but she was so nice and just wanted to like take care of us haha. She made us all this food haha it was way nice. Anyways. That was a way cool experience.
Thursday was another fantastic day. We had another lesson with Eriko and also did the restoration lesson. Well a really simple version. And we asked her what she thought about Joseph Smith's vision and she told us that she really wants to believe and she wants to learn really bad. She said that she can tell that this is really important to us and that she just feels so good whenever she's with us! So that was so cool! She's so awesome. Her eyes just light up every time she learns something new about God or Christ or anything! And it's so cool! We also had a lesson with Cherry! Cherry is this crazy eikaiwa student who we had a lesson with last week. Well it was really crazy because she is kinda scatter brained and just has a ton of questions haha.
Well we were worried that she wasn't understanding what we were teaching her but then at her lesson we asked her what she remembered from our first lesson and she remembered everything perfectly and even more than that she was making connections about why it was important to her. Me and Packard shimai almost passed out haha. And on top of that miracle she brought her friend with her! His name is Tsukasa and he's so cool! They both accepted our baptismal date and they're gonna get baptized on July 11th! Gosh! It's so Cool! Seriously. They are amazing people. But I was thinking about this experience and I really want to know what made Cherry decided to tell her friend about our church. She barely knows anything about what we believe and yet she was so willing and so excited to share it with her good friend. And I just thought about what a good example she is. I mean I've been going to church since I was 4 and I know a lot about the church. But growing up I never really felt a desire to share it with anyone. I was always scared of what people would think. But gosh, Cherry met with us one time for an hour and then felt like she needed to share it with a friend. She's so awesome.
Friday was a rainy day. We did some finding and it was good. We went to this Japanese class with the elders. Which was way fun too!
Saturday was kind of a hard day. We were finding all day and not really having any luck. But then we ran into Eriko by total chance and had dinner with her and we were able to see how her prayer and scriptures were going so that was way cool!
Sunday was way cool! Cherry and Tsukasa came to church! They even drove us the 45ish minutes to the church! Haha so cool and I think they had a way good time. They told me that they learned so much and not all of it made sense because a lot of it was brand new information but they want us to teach them more! Gosh, so cool! We also had dinner at the bishops house with some other members and it was way fun! This ward is seriously so great! We have amazing investigators and the Lord is really helping us teach them because honestly our Japanese is not so good haha and there's no way we could do this without His help. I love being a missionary and I can't even believe how fast it's going. Everyday is an adventure filled with miracles! Anyways! I love you guys and hope you have a good week!
