Hello everyone!!
This week was so great! Well I guess I emailed you on Wednesday so you already know half of last week! I will catch you up on the rest!
Thusday Oct. 2! We had a lesson with Seiguchi shimai! She's 66 years old and got baptized in July. She is so cute! She's about 5 apples tall and always wears the craziest outfits haha. But whenever she sees us her face just lights up! She's so cute.... She's from Osaka so I almost never understand her Japanese because she speaks all kind of Osakaben (Osaka accent). But I still love her lessons everyweek! She's seriously the best! We also had a lesson with Kayo shimai. Shes 33 years old and she was less active for a while. Her and her mom went inactive and then joined some weird religion called Happy Science. Well Kayo came to church two Sundays ago and was like I want to come back to church and I really want a blessing. We were all like umm okay! haha. It was quite a surprise! But a huge miracle! So we started working with her... and it's been really interesting. All she talks about is how she wants to marry a british guy... she asked us to ask all the other missionaries if they have any british friends... I don't know what that is even about haha. But it's okay. Well then at about 8:30 Iwasa shimai and Heaton shimai left... and Clements shimai and I seriously almost started crying! Because we were all alone and we had to go out and Dendo (proselyte) the next day! In Japanese... as a first and second tranfer!
Friday Oct. 3! Bean dendo day! And perhaps one of the funnest days I've had like in my whole life! So at first we were both terrified of talking to anyone, but we just had to go out and do it. And I was extra terrified because I'm the Senpai (senior companion) so I had to lead the area and actually know what I was doing! Well anyways, after the first few people we talked to we started to gain a lot more confidence! I really think God was watching out for us extra. We saw so many miracles! We met this one lady, Midori-san... she talked to us for like 45 minutes! She told us she is buddhist but she loves Jesus Christ and she loves praying.... so she's obviously not Buddhist haha. But we invited her to Eikaiwa (English Class) and she was SO excited for that! And then we talked for a while and she told us about her life and how she has a Catholic friend and I'm not gonna lie to you... I don't really know what she was talking about for like 40 of the 45 minutes we were talking to her... but she talked about Hillary Duff for like 10 minutes haha. But we taught her about prayer and we gave her a Book of Mormon and she was beyond excited! Well then we asked if we could come back and she was like no thanks, I'm not interested. And we were like what?! yes you are! But Me and Iwasa shimai are gonna go back next week. Clements shimai and I also found this way cool college girl who was way interested but was like in a hurry to go to something. But she told us that she is gonna try to come to church.. hopefully she really does! Okay then we talked to this one lady and I asked her if she believed in God and she went on and on and on... I don't really know what she said, but the only words I picked out were sabaku which is to judge and kibishi which is strict and I'm pretty sure she said bachi which is punish... so I'm pretty sure she was saying that God just judges us and punishes us. Well then after she stopped talking, Clements shimai was like "so desu ka? Sugoi desu ne! Kamisama no ai o kanjita koto ga arimasu ka?" Which means wow really? That's way awesome! Have you ever felt Gods love before? and the lady just looked at her like what the heck and walked away haha. It was so funny!! But yeah, bean dendo was way fun! We gave away three Book of Mormons and did 3 baptismal invites! Not bad for 2 bean-chans (newbies)! It was an exhausting day! But so awesome! And I learned that I really can do this and I can survive without my Nihonjin (Japanese companion)! haha.
Satuday Oct 4! We got to go to the Stake center and watch the general Womens broadcast! It was so good!
Sunday Oct 5! We had church like normal and it was great! I seriously love this little ward I'm in! The Senba family invited us and the elders over for dinner! It was so delicious! Senba shimai is like a pro bread maker! We helped her make pizzas and this little bun things and gyozas! It was so yummy! She even made icecream for us! We ate so much! They are the nicest couple ever! Oh... I almost forgot! Iwasa shimai and I almost died on our walk to church! haha. Okay we live literally across the street from the church. All we have to do is cross the busy intersections when the light changes and walk past the GIANT pachinko (yes our church is right by a huge pachinko, which is a Japanese version of a Casino). Anyways, when the light changes for us to walk it makes this beeping sound... well Iwasa shimai and I were talking and just heard the beeps and started walking... well the light didn't change for us! It changed for people to cross in the other direction! And we seriously almost got run over! haha. It was so scary at the time but it's way hillarious now! Anyways...
This week was another adventure! We are so busy but its really great! Oh, here are some fun facts you might like to know!... I had to use my first squatter toilet at a store the other day. I was desperate! So I just had to be a big girl and use it haha... Never again. Oh! And we now eat saced noodles at my house once a week... haha. I told Iwasa shimai that for some reason Keiko calls them sacred noodles, and she thought it was hilarious! And now thats just what we call them! Alrighty! Well I love you all! Thanks for your prayers! Aishiteimasu yo!
